Some of Tabitha’s achievements in her family law work include:

  • Assisting a client to represent himself in a complex parenting and property matter at a Final Hearing in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, (including preparing all required Court material) resulting in the client receiving all the orders he sought.
  • Successfully negotiating a parenting plan at mediation which resulted in her client beginning to spend regular time with his young daughter after being unable to spend time with her for 8 months.
  • Obtaining a consent without admissions protection order for her client (the respondent) at the Brisbane Magistrates Court, despite assertions that the client had admitted to committing acts of domestic violence against his former partner.
  • Provided advice on the validity of an online Islamic Divorce under Australian Family Law, to assist a client with her immigration matter.

Tabitha also regularly volunteers with the Caxton Legal Centre as part of their family law evening advice sessions.

Tabitha is also a part of our Wills and Estates Team, and understands the importance of a well-drafted estate plan.  Tabitha knows that preparing a will can often be a daunting task, and she will work with you to make a plan that works for you.

Outside of practising law, Tabitha is heavily involved in her church as the chairperson of her church council, and a member of the Synod Standing Committee for the Uniting Church of Queensland. She also sings in her local choir, and closely follows the Queensland Reds and Brisbane Heat.
