Martin Churchill

PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS

Lawyer
Martin Churchill

Martin holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Queensland and is studying for a Master of Laws. He has completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2024.

At Vocare Law, Martin works primarily in the following areas:

  • Criminal Law;
  • Traffic Law;
  • Personal Injury Claims (including Worker’s Compensation); and
  • Minor civil litigation (including tenancy and body corporate disputes).

Martin also has an academic passion for anti-discrimination and human rights law and assists in this space from time to time. He first entered this sector in 2021 when he spent a year with a boutique Sydney law firm specialising in not-for-profit and charity law.

Martin Churchill

Among other positions and achievements, Martin is proud to have played a key role in the development of the Federal Court’s Pacific Judicial Integrity Program, creating legal reference materials on criminal law, procedure, and evidence for use by Judges across the Pacific.

Martin frequently works with disadvantaged clients and understands that the legal system can be confusing. He takes care to ensure that his clients are always ‘in the loop’ and can make informed choices; and is a tenacious advocate for those who feel unable to stand up for themselves.

Nonetheless, Martin understands that the law is just one (and sometimes not the best) avenue of dispute resolution. He is always on the lookout for creative or non-legal solutions that would prevent expensive litigation. Martin adopts a holistic ethic of care and genuinely believes that his clients’ best interests come first, even when it means advising someone that they would be better off not engaging lawyers at all.

Outside of work, Martin serves as Parish Councillor and Synod Representative for St Andrews’ Anglican Church South Brisbane. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hiking, and trail-running; and runs an old-time community Paper.

Vocare Law Understanding

We recognise the devastating consequences human error, institutional failures, fractured relationships, discrimination and other wrongs have on the whole person. We understand the importance of life-giving community; of safe and healthy families, institutions, charities, churches, schools and businesses that shape lives and culture. Cultivating wise decision making requires space, dignity, discretion and clarity around risks and options. Each of our lawyers believe in the call on their lives to contribute to the fabric of this world through measured, timely and strategic counsel, courageous advocacy and clear documentation. This leads to Just Redemptive Outcomes®.
